Gendo Shindo used to work at a psychology firm until they let him off because they didn't think he took his work seriously. That’s to be expected of someone as cocky as him though. He always has something to add whether its words of wisdom or words meant to be an insult. There is rarely time when he appears to be serious, yet he puts more hours in than any other teacher there.
When Shindo’s good friend came to him, asking if Shindo would be his kids’ psychiatrist, Shindo couldn't say no. He even went as far as to set it up with the headmaster so that the kids could come visit him around lunch period. Now the kids’ consider him to be a close friend.
In class, Shindo will often start debates. He’s famous question is ‘why?’ and he can go on forever with conquering someone’s reason for doing something. His mind harbors thousands of quotes that he often will use when countering a statement. The amount of knowledge he has and the number of books he has read throughout his life is unimaginable. Arguing with him is near impossible. He is described as being the line that separates brilliance from insanity.
Shindo is not married and lives alone. Though his cocky ways often attract females, he always manages to weave himself away from a relationship. He doesn't appear to be lonely at all, despite a some what empty look in his eyes that is usually hidden with a gleam from his arrogant smiles.
